It’s almost time to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run in Disney World!
The HIGHLY anticipated thrill ride is scheduled to open in Magic Kingdom on April 4th, after years of uncertainty as the opening timeline was pushed back. Now Disney has given four important tips about riding TRON for the very first time, and one piece of news definitely stood out.
TRON Will Use a Digitized Locker System
A new feature of TRON will be complimentary digitized lockers that guests will be able to unlock using a ticket or MagicBand. Guests must store their items in a locker prior to boarding the ride, although the ride vehicles will also have small compartments for items like phones, glasses, or wallets.
If you don’t have a MagicBand or ticket media, you will be given a separate card assigned to your locker.
You can watch how the locker system will work in Disney’s video below!

Small items can fit in this compartment on the ride vehicle, so you don’t have to leave items like your phone or glasses behind in your locker.
Also, did we spy a TRON MagicBand+ in that video??
TRON will open on April 4th with a virtual queue system, which guests will be able to join via the My Disney Experience app. Guests will also be able to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane while supplies last if they prefer that option. You can read more about that here!
